Eastern Orthodox Quotes collects nothing about you. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind — on the website or in the iPhone app.

What is stored about you

Nothing that identifies you. The iPhone app keeps no personal data on your device and sends none anywhere. The website remembers two things in your own browser — the type size you chose in the reader, and whether you last read full screen. Those never leave your device, and clearing your browser data erases them.

What happens when you open the app

The quotations and the calendar of saints are carried inside the app itself, so reading them requires no connection and involves no request to anybody. When you open Today, your device asks our server for that day's readings. Like every web request anywhere, that arrives with your device's IP address, and our host records it in ordinary server logs used to keep the service running and to stop abuse. We do not analyse those logs, build profiles, or connect them to anything. There are no analytics, no cookies set by us, no advertising identifiers, no third-party trackers, and no software development kits that report on you.

Nothing is sold or shared

We have nothing to sell, because we collect nothing. No data about you is sold, rented, traded, or handed to advertisers or data brokers — not now and not later.

Where the words come from

The day's readings and commemorations are fetched by our server from the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese and the Orthodox Church in America. The Fathers' homilies come from the public-domain Nicene & Post-Nicene Fathers translation as published at New Advent. The daily commentary is written by Anthropic's Claude on our server, from those homilies and that day's readings. Every one of those requests is made by our server on its own behalf, once a day for everybody. Nothing about you is included in any of them, because our server does not have anything about you to include.

Children

The app is suitable for any age and collects no personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this ever changes — if some feature one day needs to remember something — this page will say so plainly before it does, and the date below will change.
